Ashley Wilburn, a native of Hagerstown, Maryland, proudly is a graduate of North Hagerstown High School, where she completed her secondary education. Ashley Wilburn's practice in law is focused on family law. She has a passion for it. She concentrates a large portion of her practice on divorce cases, alimony disputes, the distribution of marital property, child custody battles, child support arrangements, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, enforcement and post-divorce issues including step-parent and private parties adoptions, as well as child welfare concerns. In addition to family law, Ashley also handles estate planning issues, such as trusts, wills and probate, and estate administration, in addition to commercial contract, civil litigation cases. Ashley has been a court-appointed mediator since the year. She assists parties in resolving their disputes without the need for litigation or court involvement. Ashley mediates private cases as well as court-appointed mediations for people who want to avoid court processes and litigation.
Ashley completed her undergraduate studies in History and Politics at Loyola University of Maryland. She continued her legal education through Western New England University School of Law. She graduated in 2013 and was ranked among the top 10 students in her class. Ashley was a Note Editor for the Western New England Law Review during her time in law school. This was a sign of her dedication to legal research and scholarship.
Ashley began her clerkship career after she completed her law degree. She worked for renowned jurists from Connecticut and Maryland. She had the pleasure of serving as a law clerk for the Honorable Richard A. Robinson and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott at the Connecticut Appellate Court. In 2014 she returned home to her hometown of Hagerstown to work as a clerk for the Honorable M. Ashley joined Poole & Kane P.A. in 2015 as an associate attorney. as an associate attorney. Her primary focus was representing the Washington County Department of Social Services in matters related to child welfare. Through her dedicated efforts, Ashley played a vital role in assisting children who were victims of neglect or abuse at the by their parents or caregivers. Her commitment to social injustice was not limited to her legal career as she served as a member of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force. She worked tirelessly to increase awareness about human trafficking within the tri-state region.
In 2017, she became a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., where she developed her practice in the fields of family law such as divorce, child support, custody and guardianships - as well for estate planning, such as wills, trusts and powers of attorney, advance directives/healthcare proxies - and mediation.
Ashley established Wilburn Law Office, LLC, 2023, with the goal of providing a personalized approach for every client's needs.
